La stagione dei premi cinematografici è ufficialmente partita, ed in questo articolo parliamo delle nomination degli Independent Spirit Awards 2021.
Attese solitamente per il mese di novembre, le candidature agli ambiti Independent Spirit Awards sono arrivate quest’anno in ritardo di due mesi a causa del protrarsi dell’emergenza Covid-19. A dominare l’edizione numero 36 è stato Mai raramente a volte sempre, film diretto da Eliza Hittman, capace di ottenere ben 7 nomination. Minari è stato candidato a sei premi, mentre Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom e Nomadland a cinque.
Ricordiamo che le nomination degli Independent Spirit Awards sono decise da un comitato di una cinquantina di membri e successivamente votate dagli oltre 6.000 membri dell’associazione Film Independent. I film candidabili devono essere prodotti negli Stati Uniti con un budget inferiore ai 22.5 milioni di dollari. La cerimonia di premiazione è fissata per il 22 aprile 2021.
